Self Help and Credit Repair Don't Go Togethor

How can you help yourself when it comes to cleaning up your credit report? You see advertisements all the time in newspapers, on the internet or hear about them on the radio. You may also receive something in the mail on bad credit repair. But did you know that you could clean up your credit reports on your own?

For additional personal financial education, visit http://www.debtkiller.com Now, back to how to clean up your credit report yourself. All you need to do is dispute any inaccurate information on your reports back to the credit bureau.  However, if the information is 100% accurate, you cannot dispute the item to remove it from your credit report. This is illegal.

Sound pretty simple right? Well, while you can clean your credit reports up on your own you will find that it is not just that simple. The reason is the Credit Bureaus make money when you have negative items on your credit reports, so sooner or later, your personal credit repair program will start to wither and die. Your credit repair process will not be working the way you expected. Eventually your head will spin, your stomach will churn and you’ll find yourself spending way to much time on this supposedly ‘simple’ credit repair process. Eventually you’ll become so frustrated, you will quite the process and think credit repair is an ‘impossible’ process. At this point, nothing will have changed. This is what the credit bureau planned and you fell right into their trap. Another consumer doomed to bad credit and inflated rates all due to inaccurate information on your credit report. If only you had tried another venue! Now ask yourself, was it worth the time in doing this yourself? Would it have better to seek the help from a company that knows what they are doing?

I like to use the scenario of changing the oil in your car. I can change the oil in my car myself. I have never done this before, but hey, how hard can it be? First I need to buy a book that will guide me step by step through the oil changing process, or, I could go to the internet and type in oil change procedures and print up the pages on how to change the oil myself. Now that I have the instructions, I find that I need certain tools to change the oil. I need a pan for the oil to drip into. I need a wrench to remove the oil cap to drain the oil. I will need to dispose of the oil properly as there are laws on how you can dispose of oil. I need a mat to lie down under the car. I need special jacks to lift the car up so that I can get under it. I need to change my clothes just in case the oil splatters and gets on me. Just thinking of what I need to do is wearing me down. I have not even done the oil change at this point.. If you are like me, this sounds like an entire day of hard work. I could be at the mall shopping…or at the football game…wow! And then, when I am done I have changed the oil. Now I have to drive the oil to a special dump site to dispose of the oil. This took me an entire day to do this myself.

Don't you think that your time is important? If you would take your car to the nearest Jiffy Lube, they could have had the oil changed, dispose the oil properly, and you would be on your way in less than 20 minutes. You are only out of pocket about $40 or less. You would have spent that amount buying the proper tools you would have needed to do this yourself and driving to the dump site to dispose of the oil. Sometimes it just make sense to leave things to the pros. Now don't get me wrong, some of you are the do it yourself type and spending a full day changing the oil just does not bother you. Kudos to you. For everyone else, there is hope.

I have found that there are a lot of good companies out there that can repair your credit and will not SCAM you. One such company that I have found is Clean Credit Company. One thing that I like about this company is that they are not afraid to list competitors on their web site. They have been cleaning credit reports for consumers since 1991. They started their company in Houston Texas but moved some years ago to another state. Since the internet has evolved, they are now all over the nation. They have offices all over. Check them out at www.cleancreditcompany.com. Be sure to also hit the link to their competitors. Shop around. Choose the one that is best for you.

By the way…did I mention they only charge about $16.95 to do credit repair? Most of the other companies on the internet charge $39 to $79 each an every month…$16.95 monthly sounds a whole lot better! Hey…with the saving you can change the oil on your car or truck every month!
